Olympic Swimmer Missy Franklin’s dad received a kidney from another Olympic swimmer

 
Olympic Swimmer, Missy Franklin Johnson who competed and took home gold in 2012 and 20016 put a request out for her dad who desperately needed a kidney.  That is when the request came across social media on Crissy Perham’s (formerly Crissy Ahmann-Leighton) screen  She competed at the 1992 Barcelona Games and earned two relay gold medals as well as a silver in the 100m butterfly.
Crissy and Missy had no previous interactions, however, Crissy felt she had to help the family.  She got to meet Missy’s dad while they both lay in hospital beds, waiting for prep to begin for their surgery.
