WASHINGTON – Representative Adam Kinzinger’s term ends at noon today, bringing to a close twelve years of representing north central Illinois in the 16th District. The Channahon Republican announced in 2021 he would retire and not seek re-election after his district was significantly redrawn. He was one of the ten Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump for incitement of insurrection in his second impeachment. In his outgoing address on the House floor in December, Kinzinger said that even though standing up for the truth cost him his job, friendships, and his personal security, he would do it again without hesitation.
Thank you, IL-16. Good luck, Kevin. Kinzinger out ✌️
