Carus LLC to clear out warehouse of chemicals

 
LASALLE – Carus Chemical says it will remove the remainder of its chemicals at a storage facility near the plant. The Apollo Warehouse, north of Porter Avenue, east of Zinc Street in LaSalle is said to contain up to 8 different chemicals. After many concerned residents questioned the safety of the neighborhood, Major Jeff Grove wrote a letter asking Carus LLC to consider removing all chemicals from the warehouse. Carus says they’ve been working on removing chemicals since the spring of 2022, and are still comittted to removing all chemicals within the next two weeks.
