MENDOTA- The city of Mendota voted in favor of a grant for the Community Heart & Soul project. The purpose of the program that was presented at Tuesday night’s city council meeting is to heighten the pride and spirit of the town by building strong relationships between citizens, officials, businesses, and landmarks. The city of Mendota was considered due to the recent loss in businesses and downtown fires. The project hopes to turn things around for the city and its citizens. Mendota agreed to contribute $5,000 in matching funds if Heart & Soul can raise the additional amount, which they project would be around $10,000.
