DEPUE – A garage was destroyed and two homes slightly damaged after a mid-day fire in Depue. Authorities say they were called to the 1300 block of Grant Street around noon for the fire, which caused some heat damage to two neighboring homes siding. Spring Valley, Peru, Ladd, and Bureau Fire Departments along with the 10-33 Ambulance assisted the Depue Fire Department. According to Spring Valley Fire Chieg Todd Bogatitus, no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was likely accidental.
Crews were on the scene about 90 minutes, and one resident was briefly evacuated as a precaution.
