ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Police Chief has announced he will be retiring. Chief Eric Higby has held the position since 2009. In his years with the Police Department, he completed two elite training programs: the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the FBI National Academy. He also served on the Board of Directors for HOPE of Ogle County and Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center for over ten years. His career with the Rochelle Police Department began in 1996.
“We’ve seen many changes over the years in policing,” said Higby. “I am most proud of the work my department has done to provide closure and peace to families and the community following a crime.”
