LaSalle County 4th in Illinois in Corn production last year

 
SPRINGFIELD – Most of northern Illinois is devoted to corn and soybean production, so it is no surprise that LaSalle County is fourth on the list in the state of corn producing counties. Illinois leads the nation in Soybean production and is only second behind Iowa in corn. McLean County lead the nation in corn production with nearly 71 million bushels of corn produced.
“Our Illinois farmers have once again proved why agriculture is the number one industry in the state of Illinois,” said Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello. “Our agricultural reach goes far beyond our state. In 2022, Illinois exports of corn and soybeans to the world totaled over $3.5 billion.”
