Crews battle grass fire in Bureau County

SPRING VALLEY – A grass fire in a ditch in Bureau County Monday afternoon was battled by four fire departments. Around 2:45 PM the Spring Valley Fire Department was called to the scene of multiple blazes spread along a mile of the road known as Marquette Bottom Road. Ladd, Peru and Depue Fire was also called to combat the fire. Crews took about an hour to extinguish the fires. No injuries were reported.
