PERU – Two police officers were honored for their life savings skills last month. On the evening of March 11th authorities took a 911 call for a woman not conscious. Peru Police Officers William Sommer and Hunter Wright responded to the scene in less than two minutes and quickly determined the individual was needing immediate care as she had stopped breathing. They administered three separate doses of Narcan and began performing CPR. During a presentation at the Peru City Council meeting Monday night, Peru Police Chief Sarah Raymond said that the efforts of the two officers helped the woman become alert by the time the ambulance arrived.
