MARION COUNTY, FL — Officer Batts pulled a man over on the tollway for not having a license plate on the back of his motorcycle. The officer had pulled in front of the motorcyclist in hopes of cutting him off. When he approached the man, the man drove the motorcycle into the cruiser.
After being detained, the man explained that he was nervous and drove his motorcycle into the cruiser because he had taken his plate off of his bike to avoid tolls.
Instead of a $116 fine for a nonmoving violation, he is now facing a $5,000 third-degree felony charge, possible prison time, and a suspension of his license.
