OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam where a unsolicited caller claims that you have a warrant for your arrest. They say that the scammers attempt to get victims to submit payment over the phone to take care of a legal matter. Authorities say the caller uses a fake name, Sgt. Brad Davis, and offers a discount on their bond if they turn themselves in. The Sheriff’s Office reminds individuals that if you do have an arrest warrant, they will not call you in advance of said arrest, nor do they offer any discounts.
