A single mom in Windsor, Ontario just got a new set of wheels thanks to a program called Rebuilding Wheels Rebuilding Lives. (Windsor is just across the Canadian border from Detroit.)
High school kids sign up for a mechanics class, and spend the year fixing up a car for someone who needs it. It’s the 17th car they’ve done, all made possible through donations from the United Way.
She got a 2011 Jeep Compass and said having a car will be a huge help. Quote, “I really can’t find the right words to express my gratitude to the students, teachers, donors, partners, [and] the United Way.”
