A Southern California woman who spent last Thanksgiving in jail had much nicer accommodations this time around. Her name is Sarah Wilson. She went to jail for drugs, and then found out she was pregnant. But she’s been sober 18 months, and has a healthy nine-month-old son named Ryan.
A non-profit called Holliday’s Helping Hands offers rehab, therapy, and schooling to pregnant women in jail. Now that she’s out, they surprised her with a fully-furnished apartment just in time for the holidays. They even had Thanksgiving dinner ready to go. She says it feels like a whole new beginning.
