Wildlife officials saved a moose that fell through the ice on a lake in Upstate New York. It was 200 feet offshore, and they’re not light animals. So they couldn’t just lift it out.
They used a chainsaw to carve a channel in the ice, and got it to swim to shallow water. Then it climbed out on its own and ran off into the woods.
