An ABC affiliate in North Carolina did a story on a contractor named Jake Jarvis, who’s been doing free construction work ever since Hurricane Helene tore through in September.
He was the first to clear roads after the storm, and he’s built bridges to give people better access. He’s also done a lot of free demolition, so people can rebuild. He pays for it with donations, and money from his own savings
