LASALLE – Ameren is hosting an open house for community members to learn more about a proposed energy reliability project. Ameren’s LaSalle LINK Project is a proposal to improve energy reliability for LaSalle County residents by constructing a new 138Kv transmission line from Oglesby to Utica. Currently, the area is supported by two Ameren transmission lines that serve as the backbone of the energy system. Leah Dettmers Media Relations Specialist, says with this new line, should a power outage occur.
Dettmer says the additional line could act as an economic driver and bring in more businesses and manufacturers. There will be another open house session today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Auditorium Ballroom in LaSalle.
