Toyota reveals a “Hitchless Towing” where vehicles are connected only through WiFi

Toyota is working on a “Hitchless Towing” package.  The vehicles would be connected through WiFi where one vehicle will trail and mimic every move of the lead car.  They have tested it in a slower paced environment with extra distance between each other.
The eventual goal is to be able to have the vehicles bumper to bumper with one another on interstates.  Eventually a Prius would be able to tow a camper without issue.  Possibilities are endless and when you need to caravan somewhere or follow someone when you do not know where you are going, you could link up with one another and arrive together.
Testing on highways is anticipated by next year.
