STREATOR – The woman who was appointed to fill the remainder of late Streator Mayor Jimmie Lansford’s term has been elected the cities first female mayor. Tara Bedei defeated challenger Brian Crouch in the election yesterday. Both were no stranger to city government, with nearly 20 years combined experience between them. For the two 4-year spots on the Streator City Council David Reed and Timothy Geary garnered the most votes among the challengers. David “Moose” Conner was elected to the open 2 year term. Results won’t be certified across the state until two weeks after Tuesday.
