No injuries after Ottawa duplex fire

 
OTTAWA – The Ottawa Fire Department battled a fire early Wednesday morning in a duplex in the 600 block of 3rd Ave. They say they were called around 5:30 AM for the report of a closet on fire and smoke on both floors of the structure. No injuries were reported and the building suffered heavy fire, heat, and smoke damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities say the fire appeared to have originated in a first-floor utility room.
