Dekalb Man Dies in Head on Collision

DEKALB – A Dekalb County man is dead after being ejected from his SUV. Dekalb Sheriffs and Sycamore EMS were called shortly before 6 AM Saturday for a reported head on collision on First Street. 30-year-old Dominique L. Coleman of Dekalb was traveling Southbound, when he attempted to pass two vehicles in front of him, consequently colliding with a vehicle heading Northbound driven by a 40-year-old Georgia woman. Coleman was flow to a Rockford hospital where he later died, according to the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office.
The Georgia woman was reported to suffer minor injuries and was released at the scene.
