Illinois Cement petition to annex and rezone passes at LaSalle City Council

LASALLE – The LaSalle City Council approved Illinois Cement’s request to annex and rezone 12 parcels of land within Dimmick Township at a Wednesday night meeting. The unanimous vote will allow the mining company to begin excavating limestone beneath the earth east of Route 251. A well agreement was added to the request, after complaints from Dimmick residents and push from Alderman Schneider, to protect the water wells of those close to the new mining.
