Local Unemployment Drops

OTTAWA – Local unemployment rates have decreased since last month. According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, LaSalle County is seeing rates to those of December’s at 7.2 percent, over a percent decrease compared to last month. Putnam County’s rates have also decreased a percentage, now at 7 percent.  Bureau County falls under the lowest unemployment rates locally at 6.6 percent. The statewide unemployment rate continues to fare constant at 4.3 percent.
