Spring Valley looking into billing for fire calls

SPRING VALLEY – Spring Valley is considering billing for fire calls to acquire  funds for the fire department. According to Alderman Mike Herrmann, the finance committee met with a billing company in Mendota that provides reimbursements from emergency calls via the insurance companies of the persons involved. Herrmann says the company would receive 10 percent of collected funds. The city agreed to review statutes as well as a contract before moving forward.
