Buddy’s Purpose Walk Scheduled for Mendota

OTTAWA – LaSalle County Board declared August 25-31 Overdose Awareness Week. Lori Brown, of Buddy’s Purpose, an organization that seeks to bring awareness to overdoses and to comfort those who have lost loved ones to overdoses, spoke to the board on Thursday about her organization. Brown lost her son in 2011 to an overdose and has since dedicated herself to bringing awareness to the issue, organizing her first Overdose Awareness & Memory Walk in August of 2012. The walk this year is on August 31st and takes place in Mendota.
