Local fire departments recipients of grant from Illinois American Water

STREATOR – Five local fire departments were included in the 90 Illinois departments that will share over $88,000 through a grant by Illinois American Water. Recipients of the grant include, Streator Fire Department, Long Point Community Volunteer Fire Protection District, Leonore Volunteer Fire Department, Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and Allen Township Fire Protection District. The firefighter grant program awards grants to provide personal protective gear,communications equipment, firefighting tools, water handling equipment, training materials and classroom programs.
