STERLING – A coyote was rescued after being struck by a vehicle near Sterling Monday afternoon. The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office say they were called around 5:20 PM for a car that had struck an animal in the road. Upon arrival they discovered a live coyote wedged in the bumper. Sgt. Bauer stated, “In my 20 years of service, I have never seen anything like this.”
The coyote was removed and is being relocated.
