SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Agriculture’s Director resigned, effective yesterday. According to a released by Governor J.B. Pritzker’s administration, he requested Director John Sullivan’s resignation this weekend due to being disturbed that the then-Senator Sullivan became aware of the July 2012 email and did not handle it appropriately, including not alerting the inspector general or other authorities. The statement is in relation to a former lobbyist’s emails that were discovered regarding a, “rape in Champaign”.
