St. Louis Churches clear $13 million worth of medical debt for families

The United Church of Christ congregations and the Deaconess Foundation in St. Louis teamed up to purchase roughly $13 million of outstanding medical debt for families in the surrounding community. Rev. Traci Blackmon stated that people who live around or below the poverty line shouldn’t have to be crippled by such expenses. It’s an awesome gesture, and kudos to these churches for lending a hand in their community!
