79-year-old dancing traffic cop livens up his NJ community

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for February 20th:
Ed “Butch” Larkin is known around South Orange, New Jersey as the “dancing cop.”
For decades now, Larkin has been entertaining drivers and passersby with his fun dance moves all while helping people safely navigate a busy local intersection. He started working the particular intersection when he was 23 (!!) years old.
What I find the most charming is how seriously he takes his performative routine.
“I do all kind of moves; left, right around the back, I do everything,” Larkin told the local ABC station. “I give 110% when I go out there.”
He says he’ll continue dancing until he can’t no more. You can believe he’s gotten more than five decades of exercise under his belt, so hopefully that means many more years to come!
