PONTIAC – On March 17th, Livingston County voters will be asked whether to allow a property tax levy to support the Community Healthcare Program. The .025% tax levy would cost an additional $7.50 to an owner of a home valued at $100,000. If the County Board chooses to levy the full tax, there would be $185,000 available to support the program. The Community Healthcare Program was established as a way to bridge a gap in services after the county closed its nursing home. It provides in-home care to Livingston County residents age 60 and older who are able to remain safely in their homes with help provided on an intermittent basis.
