OGLESBY – Rev-up your engines for Illinois Valley Community College’s 15th annual Edible Car Contest this Wednesday. Racing and judging will begin around noon in the cafeteria. Last year, there were 66 entries with 38 cars created by students from 5 high schools and two junior highs. Students will be competing in categories like the most complete meal, best design and fastest car. Computer-Aided Design instructor Dorene Data, coordinator of the event, says the purpose is to demonstrate that science, technology, engineering and math, can be fun.
