A postal worker is leaving gift cards for 2020 graduates

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for May 18th:
Over the last several weeks, Josh Crowell, a mailman working near Concord, New Hampshire, has been delivering hand-written notes with a $5 gift card to homes with graduation signs on their lawns. He’s been doing it in efforts to boost morale among the students whose graduation/graduation plans were cut short amidst the global pandemic.
“$5 isn’t much, but it’s something so that the kids can get out of the house and go get a doughnut and an iced coffee,” Crowell, 39, told CNN.
Crowell has even gotten thank you notes back from several students, and one note in particular made him feel especially appreciated.
It read: “This year has not been easy for most, but I think being able to make someone’s day is important. … Thank you for being an essential worker, it means a lot.”
What a thoughtful gesture, and a great relationship-builder between a mailman and his many neighborhood residents!
