IDPH confirms nearly 600 COVID-19 cases

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 593 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing the total since the pandemic began to 134,778. The IDPH also confirmed 55 additional deaths related to the coronavirus, which makes 6,537 deaths in 101 counties in Illinois. Scott County, west of Springfield, is the only county in the state that has not had a confirmed COVID-19 case.
