Doctors said an Ohio man wouldn’t live to be 12. He just turned 62.

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for June 22nd:
With every day he wakes up, Joey Wittkugle from Struthers, Ohio continues to beat the odds.
Born with Down syndrome, Joey was said not to make it to 12-years-old. “The doctor came in and never asked my name and said to me, ‘You have to put him away. He’ll never talk. He’ll never walk. He’ll never know who you are. He will live to the age of 11 and that will be the end of it,’” his mother Bobbi said.
With the help of doctors and her priest, Bobbi realized Joey was a special child; a gift from God. And miraculously, he just turned 62-years-old.
“I want people to start understanding, when you see one of our children, don’t turn your back at them like they did years ago. They are human, they are special from God and please learn to love them as much as they love you,” she said.
Joey got a special parade for his birthday too!
