Bureau County 3-year-old found after wandering into cornfield Saturday

WALNUT – A 3-year-old boy is fine after wandering into a cornfield Saturday and traveling over a mile on foot. The Bureau County Sheriff’s Office say that around 8:30 AM in rural Walnut a family reported the child missing and after a search of the home resources were called in to try to locate the child. Many area fire departments, drones, and even helicopters were deployed to try to find the boy in the surrounding fields. Authorities say the child was found about a mile from the home with no injuries.
