Illinois Tops 2200 New Covid Cases on Friday

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health on Friday announced 2,264 new coronavirus confirmed cases, including 25 deaths.  The deaths reported in Friday’s total included a woman in her 80’s in Bureau County, and a woman in her 60’s in DeKalb County.  Reports on those deaths were released earlier this week by their respective health departments.  The daily case count is the highest since May 25th, but the number of people tested Friday was the 2nd highest tested since the pandemic began in March.
