Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for August 19th:
Lisa Mollet has been working at the same New York diner for four years. When COVID-19 hit, however, that put her out of work for four months and money grew tighter, on top of other hardships.
“It was hard, it was very challenging. I’m a single mom with two kids. I have my own house. Paying the bills, trying to get everyone right, keep everyone happy,” Mollet told Fox 29.
When the diner finally reopened, Mollet was happy to see a handful of her regulars once again, but one couple, who has been coming in for years, surprised her with something big: a brand new Nissan Ultima.
“It’s a blessing. They blessed me,” Mollet said of the gift from the unnamed customers. “They are wonderful people. They come here constantly. They come here with their family. They’re like family to me.”
The customers didn’t want their names to be public, but they wanted Lisa to be without fear of having reliable transportation. Talk about a tip for the ages.
