PONTIAC – The Livingston County Health Department program Healthy Families Illinois has maintained their accreditation by a national organization. Every four years, the health department’s Families program must pass a rigorous and comprehensive assessment in order to earn accreditation from Healthy Families America.
“We are very proud to have successfully earned and maintained program accreditation through Healthy Families America,” said Megan Fehr, Livingston County Health Department’s HFI
Coordinator. “We have really dedicated staff that work hard for our clients, so it’s nice to have our team’s efforts recognized.”
Livingston County Health Department’s HFI program is a voluntary home visiting program that helps support new and expectant parents through education and connecting with resources. This prevention program works to improve the safety of children by reducing the risk for child abuse and neglect. Just since 2018, Livingston County Health Department’s HFI program has served over 130 families across Livingston County in every community, primarily outside of the Pontiac area. If you are a new or expectant parent and would like to learn more about the benefits of HFI, contact the Livingston County Health Department at 815-844-7174 ext. 233.
