74-year-old grandfather officially recognized as world’s oldest footballer

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for October 20th:
Ezzeldin Bahader, who plays for the 6th October team, was recently recognized as the oldest player in his field by Guinness World Records on Saturday. This recognition comes mere weeks before his 75th birthday.
Bahader was granted the accolade just after his team lost 3-2 to El Ayat Sports club. The record was previously held by 73-year-old Israeli goalkeeper Isaak Hayik.
“I dream of being able to break my own record one more time, just to make the competition a little harder,” Bahader was quoted by Reuters as saying.
This story further goes to show that age is just the number. Hard work, determination, and maybe a little luck go a long way in realizing life-long dreams — even when they practically take the length of a lifetime to materialize!
