IDPH confirms 56 more COVID-19 related deaths

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed over 6,300 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the state, along with 56 deaths. Of those deaths were 2 individuals from LaSalle County. The IDPH is currently reporting over 395,000 cases of COVID-19 in total, including over 9,600 deaths since the start of the pandemic. In addition, 3,030 individuals in the state were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19 as of Wednesday evening, with 643 in the ICU and 269 on ventilators.
