Peru public works wants residents to stop flushing diapers

 
PERU – Peru residents who are flushing diapers are causing some major problems for the city and other residents. Fire Chief and public works head Jeff King says, diapers continue to keep appearing in the sewers on 26th Street between Rock and Plumb.

King also requested over $12,000 in emergency repairs on the 30th Street Baker Lake lift station where the city is down to one pump. King says the Menards lift station will also need costly repairs due to another failed pump.
