MENDOTA – The public bathrooms at Strouss Park in Mendota, also known as Purple Park, are going to remain locked after damage was reported over the weekend. At the City Council meeting Monday night the decision was made to lock the facilities after thousands of dollars worth of damage was reported to a fixtures. Nationwide, restroom vandalism is on the rise as part of a viral social media trend on Tik-Tok. The gazebo was also damaged by unknown vandals who broke an electrical junction box.
