OTTAWA – Repairing the community pool in Ottawa could be expensive, and the Mayor would like input from residents as to what the future should hold for the facility. A report said Riordan Pool, opened in 1966 in Ottawa will need $550,000 of repairs in order to open next season, along with additional repairs of $1.2 million in the next five years. Commissioner Marla Rodriguez said the immediate needs address safety issues between both the building and the pool. Ottawa Mayor Dan Aussem said those with thoughts, comments, or suggestions about the municipal pool should share those ideas with the City Clerk. A meeting is scheduled for tonight at 5 PM at City Hall to discuss the pool’s future.
