Streator awarded safe routes to school grant

STREATOR – The city of Streator was awarded a safe route to school grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The approved project includes new and replacement sidewalks for children in the community to reach school safely. Various streets within the Riverside area of town will get new sidewalks to help provide safe places for students to reach Kimes Elementary School. The proposed sidewalk will connect to the existing sidewalks along Main street and Bridge Street, as well as the Hop-A-Long Cassidy River Trail.
