Manteno Veterans’ Home reports COVID-19 outbreak

MANTENO – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced that the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Manteno is experiencing an outbreak of COVID-19 cases. Currently six staff and 16 residents have tested positive. A small number of the positive residents are showing only mild symptoms, while the majority are experiencing no symptoms. All the residents who tested positive have been moved to the negative pressure isolation unit and are being closely monitored. An outbreak of COVID-19 at the LaSalle Veteran’s Home was responsible for 36 deaths between November of 2020 and January of 2021.
