MARSEILLES – The city of Marseilles has been awarded an over $500,000 grant for sidewalk improvements on portions of Rutland Street to 11th and then east on 11th to the Medical Clinic. According to Mayor Jim Hollenbeck, the grant is 80% funded and the city will receive 10% from the state. The mayor says as the city continues to grow northward with a medical clinic, auto repair facility, and retail stores the foot traffic on Rutland Street is constantly increasing. The North Central Illinois Council of Governments partnered with the city to make the award possible.
