City of Peru to apply to the Safe Routes to School Program for infrastructure project

 
PERU – The city of Peru is hoping to receive funding for a sidewalk project near Parkside School. The Safe Routes to School Program with the Illinois Department of Transportation is awarding up to $250,000 for infrastructure projects with a 20% local match requirement. City Engineer Eric Carls says the project consists of constructing a sidewalk from Parkside School all the way to the Sycamore Lake Subdivision.
