PERU – Aldermen at Peru City Council discussed potential plans regarding the Water Street electrical substation at Monday night’s meeting. Representatives from BHMG Engineers spoke to the council about the need for an update at the current substation, which is located in a flood prone area. Officials say the transformer and breakers are showing age and need to be replaced. They discussed two options: upgrading the current location or installing a new location outside of the flood area. Aldermen and Mayor Harl asked BHMG to look at the logistics of both options currently, which are estimated to cost approximately $3 million and $4.5 million, respectively.
