DEPUE – A heavy thunderstorm brought a deluge to parts of Bureau County on Thursday, soaking the community of DePue with water running down some streets on the west side of town. Over 3″ of rain fell in a short amount of time mid-afternoon, turning parts of the town into rivers as ditches overflowed. A portion of Illinois Route 29 was closed when a landslide brought dirt and debris down over one lane.
