Illinois State Police searching for escapee along I-39

METAMORA – The Illinois State Police are looking for a man they say escaped from a hospital transport van along I-39. On Wednesday night around 11:20 PM, they say 47-year-old Javier Aguirre from Hoopeston fled the van near milepost 28 in Woodford County. A search of the area via aircraft and K9 units were not successful. They warn that Aguirre is considered a danger to himself and others, and that under no circumstances should he be approached. If seen, call police immediately.
